A Scandi-style Christmas at ALSO Home
Now it’s Mid-November we can safely talk about all things Christmas, and Christmas at ALSO Home is always a highlight.
There is something truly enchanting about a paired back Scandinavian inspired Christmas, and this year ALSO Home draws inspiration from the natural materials and stark styling synonymous with Nordic style.
Everyone loves decorating this season, but there is always that fine line between festive and tacky and we do not cross that line! This season we’ve created some Scandinavian-style natural decorations that would look good in any home.
A Scandi-style Christmas look truly is enchanting. This year, celebrate the festivities with your loved ones in a stylish, calm setting. Remember how busy you will be, all the gift wrap and family causing havoc – keep your interiors as calm as possible.
Scandinavian style is characterised by a wonderful, simple style of decoration which acts beneficially upon us as it also helps in relieving stress. Prevailing natural materials, white washing, with simple and minimalist elements contribute to the calming pleasant mood.
For a true paired back Nordic Christmas look, evergreen branches, trees and pine cones should come in. Obviously a Christmas tree is essential, ideally real (so you get that lovely smell), but also hang some branches, or incorporate on dining settings. It’s a really easy way of adding some rustic tones to your home.
Pared back, simple styling is a big trend this Christmas – we are not alone! Classic monochrome styling gets a ‘holiday’ makeover with light, bright and airy atmospheres with cosy textures, taking inspiration from nature.
White is the main back drop for our Christmas style interiors, but any light neutral colour can work. Contrast is important, and ideally this is black details against white but again can be any dark shade on a light backdrop. Carefully chosen textures sit alongside the stark styling. Natural materials are used, light woods, faux fur and of course plenty of candle light. Perfect for the festive season, faux fur details will bring a touch of log cabin chic to any setting (roaring fire not necessary!).
